Where Would You Keep Your Money For 2012?

How?

Me?

How about some jewellery, like gold and diamonds. Me? I like them bling-bling stuff like diamonds. Could diamonds be a cow best friend?

I like stocks but I do think stock selection, as always, is very important. Any ideas? Me? I can only say that one should watch out for companies with high debts denominated in USD. We had recently seen these companies' earnings hurt by the stronger USD and with the USD remaining stubbornly strong, I do reckon that these companies would continue to face such difficulties.

Feedbacks and suggestions most welcomed.

Happy 2012 once again.

Cheers

Hi Moolah
Appreciate your opinion on the US$(expecting to remain strong).

However, i would suggest that with FED continuing its QE1,2...3, the printing of more and more US$ should eventually cheapen it (i believe this is the initial reason why Warren Buffet betted against the US$ a couple years ago).

But the world of complicated international finance and with US still holding the seigneurial power with its currency, the outcome can never be predictable, especially within 2012.

casey: Happy New Year.

Firstly, I don't think highly of the USD at all.

But I think this factor should be put into one's consideration when one is making an investment in 2012. And I do not see anything wrong with your reasoning. Not at all.

The point is, we do have more than a few local companies which has a high level of borrowings in USD. Now as long as their stock prices discounting this issue and continue to rate them highly, I think one should be on the conservative side when one considers these stocks for investment. As it is... the USD is still there (stubbornly high) ... and as such... weaker earnings should be expected. ( Simply put, I ask myself on some stocks... why are they trading so 'high' ... when the upcoming quarter... their earnings shud be hit )

Errr... this is my fuzzy view this evening.
